KKC-West Bengal at Baidyabati, Hooghly
On June 21, 2025, a significant outreach meeting was organized by the Unorganized Workers and Employees Congress (KKC-West Bengal) at Baidyabati, Hooghly, focusing on the numerous challenges and irregularities faced by contract workers across various sectors.
The meeting witnessed participation from a large number of contract laborers working in industries, warehouses, transport, and other unorganized segments in the region. They shared their day-to-day experiences marked by exploitation, irregular payments, lack of job security, absence of written contracts, denial of minimum wage, unsafe working conditions, and zero access to social security.
The program was led by Mr. Manas Banerjee, State Coordinator of KKC-West Bengal, who has been at the forefront of raising the concerns of marginalized and unorganized workers in the state. In his address, Mr. Banerjee emphasized:
“Contract workers are the invisible backbone of our economy, yet they are treated as disposable. This systemic neglect must end. We are committed to organizing, empowering, and giving them a collective voice that cannot be ignored.”
He further outlined KKC-WB’s vision to build strong grassroots-level committees in industrial zones like Hooghly, where contract labor is widely employed, yet poorly protected.
During the meeting, KKC-West Bengal also collected written complaints and testimonies from workers to be compiled and forwarded to the appropriate labor authorities and public representatives. Legal awareness sessions were also held to inform workers about their basic rights under the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, the Minimum Wages Act, and provisions for grievance redressal.
The session concluded with a resolution to continue sustained efforts for:
Immediate regularization of eligible contract workers.
Transparent payment systems and issuance of job contracts.
Access to ESI, PF, and health coverage.
Formation of local grievance redressal cells with legal support.
The KKC-West Bengal team reaffirmed its commitment to standing with contract workers in their fight for dignity, justice, and fair treatment.
This meeting at Baidyabati was not just a gathering—it was a call for accountability, a demand for change, and a step toward building a just and inclusive labor ecosystem in West Bengal.

पंजाब सरकार मजदूरों के हितों की अनदेखी कर रही है: KKC प्रदेश चेयरमैन किरणजीत सिंह गहरी
असंगठित कामगार एवं कर्मचारी कांग्रेस (KKC) के प्रदेश चेयरमैन किरणजीत सिंह गहरी ने आज बठिंडा में प्रेस को संबोधित करते हुए पंजाब सरकार पर मजदूर विरोधी नीतियों को बढ़ावा देने का गंभीर आरोप लगाया। उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार ने व्यापारियों और उद्योगपतियों को मजदूरों से 12 घंटे काम कराने और मजदूरों का कोई रिकॉर्ड न रखने की छूट देकर संविधान और श्रम कानूनों का उल्लंघन किया है।
गहरी ने आरोप लगाया कि "पूरी पंजाब सरकार मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल के रिमोट कंट्रोल से चल रही है। आम आदमी पार्टी की यह सरकार मजदूरों के शोषण को बढ़ावा दे रही है और श्रमिक वर्ग के अधिकारों को कुचल रही है।"
प्रमुख मांगें:
1. 12 घंटे काम कराने का आदेश तुरंत रद्द किया जाए।
2. मजदूरों की दैनिक मजदूरी ₹1000 की जाए।
3. मनरेगा योजना को ESI और EPF के अंतर्गत लाया जाए।
4. मनरेगा योजना की आय सीमा ₹50,000 तक बढ़ाई जाए।
5. श्रमिक दुर्घटना की स्थिति में ₹10 लाख मुआवजा, और कार्यस्थल पर मृत्यु पर परिवार को ₹20 लाख की आर्थिक सहायता दी जाए।
6. 8 घंटे से अधिक काम करवाना संविधान और श्रम कानूनों के विरुद्ध है, इसे रोका जाए।
गहरी ने स्पष्ट किया कि यदि सरकार ने ये आदेश वापस नहीं लिए तो हमारा विभाग राज्य भर में आंदोलन शुरू करेगा। हर जिले में राज्यपाल और मुख्यमंत्री को ज्ञापन सौंपे जाएंगे।
उन्होंने सभी मजदूर संगठनों से अपील की कि एकजुट होकर सरकार के मजदूर विरोधी फैसलों के खिलाफ आवाज उठाएं और अपने हक की लड़ाई मजबूती से लड़ें।

World Domestic Workers Day
On the eve of World Domestic Workers Day, a significant discussion program was organized at the West Bengal Pradesh Congress Office, Bidhan Bhavan, Kolkata, bringing together activists and grassroots leaders from the Unorganized Workers and Employees Congress (KKC – West Bengal). The gathering reflected a shared commitment to ensure social security, dignity, and justice for domestic workers and others engaged in the unorganized sector.
The session served as a powerful platform for deliberating the real challenges faced by millions of unorganized workers – including domestic workers, daily wage earners, construction laborers, and street vendors – who often remain deprived of basic rights such as minimum wage, health insurance, pension, and workplace safety.
The discussion was led by several dedicated members of KKC-West Bengal, under the coordination of Mr. Manas Banerjee, who has been actively mobilizing efforts to organize unorgnized labor and amplify their voices at the policy-making level. Mr. Banerjee emphasized the urgent need for government-backed welfare schemes and collective bargaining mechanisms to protect the rights of this vulnerable workforce.
Participants unanimously resolved to continue working shoulder to shoulder to raise awareness, build grassroots networks, and advocate for inclusive policies that prioritize the needs of the unorganized labor force.
Following the discussion, all attendees met with the President of West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee, Shri Subhankar Sarkar, and shared a summary of the deliberations. Shri Sarkar extended his full support to the cause, appreciating the initiative taken by KKC-WB. He reaffirmed the Congress Party’s long-standing commitment to labor rights and promised to champion the demands of unorganized workers at the legislative and organizational levels.
This initiative marked an important step forward in building solidarity and laying the groundwork for a more just and equitable society. The KKC-West Bengal also announced plans to conduct a series of awareness and outreach programs across districts in the coming months.

हरियाणा प्रदेश कार्यकर्ता सम्मेलन
हरियाणा के मेहनतकश असंगठित कामगारों की आवाज़ को बुलंद करने की दिशा में असंगठित कामगार एवं कर्मचारी कांग्रेस (केकेसी) द्वारा आयोजित हरियाणा प्रदेश कार्यकर्ता सम्मेलन अत्यंत सफल और प्रेरणादायक रहा।

कार्यक्रम को केकेसी के राष्ट्रीय चेयरमैन, माननीय डॉ. उदित राज जी ने संबोधित किया। उनके ओजस्वी भाषण ने कार्यकर्ताओं में नई ऊर्जा और दिशा का संचार किया। उन्होंने असंगठित कामगारों की दशा-दिशा पर विस्तार से बात की और संगठन को मज़बूत बनाने का आह्वान किया।

मनरेगा वर्कर्स और कंस्ट्रक्शन वर्कर्स की एक महत्वपूर्ण बैठक
डॉ. उदित राज, चेयरमैन, असंगठित कामगार एवं कर्मचारी कांग्रेस (केकेसी), के दिशानिर्देश पर केकेसी के वाइस चेयरमैन श्री संजय गाबा ने गांव राजथल, ब्लॉक नारनोंद, जिला हिसार में मनरेगा वर्कर्स और कंस्ट्रक्शन वर्कर्स की एक महत्वपूर्ण बैठक आयोजित की।
इस बैठक का उद्देश्य भाजपा सरकार की तानाशाही पूर्ण नीतियों और मजदूर विरोधी सोच के खिलाफ आवाज बुलंद करना था। श्री संजय गाबा ने उपस्थित श्रमिकों को संबोधित करते हुए कहा कि मौजूदा सरकार श्रमिकों के अधिकारों का हनन कर रही है और असंगठित क्षेत्र के कामगारों की लगातार अनदेखी कर रही है।
उन्होंने ऐलान किया कि केकेसी आने वाले समय में संगठित विरोध और आंदोलन के माध्यम से मजदूरों के हक के लिए निर्णायक लड़ाई लड़ेगी। बैठक में मनरेगा और कंस्ट्रक्शन वर्कर्स ने सरकार की नीतियों के खिलाफ एकजुट होकर संघर्ष करने का संकल्प लिया।
बैठक में क्षेत्र के कई स्थानीय कार्यकर्ताओं और मजदूर प्रतिनिधियों ने भी भाग लिया और अपनी समस्याओं को साझा किया।
